Mystery Jets – Greatest Hits
We All Want Someone To Shout For 17 May 2012, 2:31 am CEST
“Greatest Hits” is the new single from Mystery Jets, off their new album Radlands, out now on iTunes and in stores on June 5. A funky effort that is a very easy song to get hooked onto. A sunny, feel-good sound who will find plenty of time during these hot summer days.
Two Wounded Birds – To Be Young
We All Want Someone To Shout For 17 May 2012, 1:48 am CEST
Two Wounded Birds are a band from Margate who have on of the most easy going singles around today with “To Be Young”. We also shared the equally winning single “All We Wanna Do” with you last year. A simple, yet catchy guitar riff leads the way for lovesick vocals that sound right at home with The Drums. Makes sense that The Drums very own Jacob Graham is releasing their debut self-titled album on his own record label, Holiday Friends Recording Company. It’s a new part of Frenchkiss Records. June 4 is the date.
It’s good to be young. Just ask Two Wounded Birds.
The Rest – Seesaw
We All Want Someone To Shout For 17 May 2012, 1:17 am CEST
Leading up to the release of new album Seesaw, The Rest have been finding creative ways to promote the album. The band has been revealing a new song up for download each week on bandcamp, making it free until the next song is shared.
The record has been a long journey for The Rest. They lost a friend and a producer, and almost lost the album when a hard-drive glitch deleted the album files. Luckily they were able to recover the album and are able to share it with the world.
5 song are available to stream right now on bandcamp. Below you can watch the band perform “Always On My Mind”, one of the songs already shared. I also embedded the album for your listening pleasure.

“Life” is the first track to be heard from the 5-song EP. It’s a piano-led dance effort with a great vocal performance from the always lovely Elizabeth Sankey. This is a more electronic side of Summer Camp, and they work it well.

[new]: The Walkmen – The House You Made
We All Want Someone To Shout For 16 May 2012, 1:54 am CEST
I’m sure that The Walkmen’s upcoming album Heaven is going to be all kinds of special. However, it must be real damn good if they left off “The House You Made” from the album. The band left it as the extremely mesmerizing b-side to the “Heaven” 7″ single release.
This b-side rivals some of the bands finest moments, and has me left in awe. Hamilton has honed in his vocals to sit at a real magical level that finds him at his best. That croon get me every time man.
Heaven is out May 29 via Fat Possum.
[new]: The Tallest Man On Earth – 1904
We All Want Someone To Shout For 16 May 2012, 1:44 am CEST
The Tallest Man On Earth is releasing his new album There’s No Leaving Now on June 12th via Dead Oceans. “1904″ is the first single from the album, and it’s another wonderful offering from the man who can do no wrong.
Kristian Matsson’s unmistakable vocals instantly hit home. His easy going guitar strum is as charming as ever. He even adds in little bit of electric guitar. The impact is sparse, but plenty welcome. This song calls for long road trips with the windows down, letting the summer air overtake all of your worries and fears.
Download a mp3 of “1904″ below via Rolling Stone.

POP ETC’s New Single: Keep It For Your Own
We All Want Someone To Shout For 15 May 2012, 10:14 pm CEST
“Keep It For Your Own” is the first single from POP ETC’s new album. It’s a great choice for a first single as it combines everything that I love from the Morning Benders as well as the new stylings of POP ETc. The best of both worlds.
Buy the single on iTunes. POP ETC comes out June 12 via Rough Trade.

Band To Watch: The Vestals
We All Want Someone To Shout For 15 May 2012, 1:38 am CEST
The Vestals music video of “Perfect Pain” is just the band hunched tightly together, banging out an intimate performance of their incredible debut song, “Perfect Pain”. Aside from the image you see posted above, and the music video, a hazy cloud comes between us and the band. They haven’t revealed much about themselves other than what they have decided to share on their facebook, and tumblr. They played some shows in Cardiff, so at least we have some idea of their general location.
They described themselves as an melancholic indie-pop band in their email to me. Don’t think any of us could argue with that. A modern comparison would be Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, but there is something about this band that makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd.
The Vestals come from that special breed of bands that come out of the gate holding their heads higher than the rest. This isn’t your normal debut single. No, this is something very tight, above the rest of the fold. I think these guys are headed towards big things. Don’t sleep on them.

[watch]: Youtuber’s Great “Sexy and I Know It” Cover
We All Want Someone To Shout For 15 May 2012, 1:22 am CEST
Gotta hand it to this young 18-year-old singer named Noah out of North Carolina. His cover of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know” rules. He made one of my least favorite songs and made it incredibly different and actually awesome. Boy can sing.
Watch his performance of the newly arranged version of the song below.
